Job Description:

Purpose: Responsible for rental store and territory so that they are operated in an effective, profitable, and professional manner.

Job Duties:

• Develop business strategies to increase market share, expand store traffic and optimize profitability
• Meet goals by training, motivating, mentoring and providing feedback to sales staff
• Manage internal and external communications for rental equipment and attachments
• Track and reserve rental equipment and attachments needed to fill rental orders
• Ensure high levels of customers satisfaction through excellent service and management of rental operational issues and order maintenance.
• Manage rental accounts receivable collection.
• Execute location HR and administrative responsibilities.
• Ensure adherence to company policy and standards
• Additional duties as may be needed

Job Requirements:

• 2-4 years in agricultural or construction equipment sales/rental experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Ability to work flexible hours
• Excellent customer relationship skills
• Must be energetic and a self-starter
• Ability to cold-call customers and grow market share in new markets
• Ability to analyze/interpret/run basic sales report
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred

Rental Account Manager (RAM) – Outside Sales
Department: Sales
Reports To: VP of Sales & General Manager (GM)

Primary Role

The Rental Account Manager drives rental revenue growth through territory management, jobsite penetration, and customer acquisition. This role focuses on building strong customer relationships, expanding market share, and collaborating with the branch team to deliver excellent service while maintaining a culture of safety.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Customer Acquisition

• Schedule will be a mix between time in the field (mainly) and in the office.
• Prospect and develop new accounts within assigned territory.
• Expand relationships with existing customers to increase rental opportunities.
• Conduct regular job site visits, prescheduled office visits, and cold calls.
• Present rental, trucking, and equipment sales solutions tailored to customer needs.
• Submit customer deals to the Rental Coordinator (RC) for processing.
  • Including: Rates, P&D, site POC contact information, etc.

Territory & Pipeline Management

• Maintain accurate records of daily activities and opportunities in CRM.
• Track and pursue leads provided by RCs, GMs, and inbound inquiries.
• Monitor and manage pipeline opportunities through all sales stages.
• Ensure revenue targets and customer acquisition goals are consistently achieved.

Customer Engagement & Retention

• Build strong, long-term relationships with contractors and project managers.
• Conduct follow-up visits to ensure customer satisfaction and introduce new solutions.
• Resolve issues quickly by collaborating with the branch and operations teams.
• Position the company as a trusted partner for rental, trucking, and equipment needs.

Collaboration & Branch Alignment

• Work closely with Rental Coordinators to ensure accurate contracts and scheduling.
• Partner with the GM to align sales efforts with branch operations and inventory.
• Support branch-wide initiatives to improve customer experience and revenue growth.
• Participate in weekly one-on-one reviews with the VP of Sales to assess progress.

Safety & Compliance

• Promote and model a safety-first culture during all jobsite visits and customer interactions.
• Ensure that equipment recommended and rented is safe, compliant, and fit for use.
• Educate customers on safe rental practices and company safety standards.
• Immediately report any safety concerns, hazards, or incidents encountered in the field.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• New account/customer acquisition.
• Daily CRM activity logged and up to date.
• Revenue targets consistently met or exceeded.
• Customer retention and satisfaction in assigned territory.
• Safety compliance during field activities.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven track record in outside sales, preferably in equipment rental, construction, or industrial services.
• Strong relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently in the field.
• Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Commitment to promoting and maintaining a safety culture in all interactions.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to travel within assigned territory.

Description

Performs basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment.  May require some direction or guidance from the Store Manager or Senior Technicians.

Job Duties

• Performs basic diagnostics and reports on agricultural, turf, and construction equipment and established Ag Management Solutions (AMS) products.
• Participates in Service Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge.
• Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and JLG products.
• Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment.
• Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
• Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
• Accounts for all time in the time keeping systems and for all material used in performing assigned duties.
• All other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

• 1+ years of experience performing service repairs
• Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual Procedures
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment.
• Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions
• Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
• Proficient oral and written communication skills
• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs repeatedly
• Basic Service Technician certification preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferred
• Valid driver’s license is required
• Fork lift license preferred
